The main attention is paid to the near-infrared spectroscopy as the most reasonable and effective technique in case of emergency diagnostics. The existing devices based on this operating principle and their limitations are discussed. Moreover, the proposed experimental setup for the diagnosis of hematoma and its spatial localization, several limitations of the device and possible ways of its upgrading of the system are discussed. The principle of designing a physical phantom of a head with a hematoma, which parameters can be changed by an operator, is also presented. Keywords: near-infrared spectroscopy, optical tomography, infra-red laser, hematoma.
