Results of simulations of magnetic systems of EAC for the excitation of shear and longitudinal ultrasonic waves in continuous and pulsed magnetic fields are given. According to the research developed EMA transducers with constant and pulsed magnetic bias for excitation of longitudinal and shear ultrasonic waves. Developed EMAT using constant bias for a number of years successfully operated as part of a digital thickness gauge A1270 EMA under the control elements of the shell plating rocket "Proton" and in other areas. EMAT with pulsed magnetization used in the development of UAE gauge A1270PM intended for thickness measurement and control of spot welding. Submitted dependency analysis induction of pulsed magnetic field on the thickness of the steel controled object, confirming the presence of skin effect not only for the high-frequency signal of the probe pulse, but also for the pulse bias. Qualitatively, this conclusion is confirmed by the nature of the distribution of pulsed magnetic field induction.
