The article provides a brief summary of the history the of magnetic particle method development of nondestructive testing and technical diagnostics in Russia, focusing on major developments undertaken with the direct participation or under the direction of leading Russian scientist G.S. Shelikof, who has made a significant contribution to the development of magnetic particle inspection method and played a sig-nificant role in the implementation of this method in the Russian industry, especially in its aerospace sector.
