The main factors that influence the reliability and availability of technical objects under operating and storage conditions are mentioned. Processing of measurement results for a batch of one-type items is a special requirement of reliability calculations. This is a basis for modeling changes in the condition of a technical object. First, storageability indicators are considered for simple non-repairable items. Then, fail-safety indicators of a simple item are addressed. For this purpose, the load factor is introduced which can be varied by a given law during operation introducing a relation between structure parameters of the object and its performance functions. The next step is to model the same indicators for repairable items and the longevity indicators are now determined. Based on the indicators obtained for simple objects, similar indicators of a complex object are considered for selected structural configurations. The measure called “diagnostic indicator” is used to assess the condition of the object. An attempt is made to couple “industrial product dependability” and “technical diagnostics” approaches. For modeling purposes the “Matlab” program is used. Lumped parameter circuits are chosen as objects to model. Keywords: reliability, technical object, diagnostic indicator, computational model, condition.
