It is considered the results of cyclic test of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) samples with various monolayer packing. The rele-vance of the research is determined the widespread use of composites at the design and manufacture of critical structures, as well as the need to monitor their condition. Diagnostic such structures in real-time, automation of the measurement process and the ability to localize a defect at an early stage are the advantages of applying the method of acoustic emission (AE). The development of techniques for the processing and analysis of AE-information which is logged by the diagnostic system during the tests is an important task. Its solution makes it possible to detect the incipient defects and to prevent sudden destruction of composite elements of structures. The control under destruction of CFRP samples in the cycling test is carried out using the acoustic emission technique, visual method (the digital camera) and strain gauging. Two-stage clustering is used for handling of acoustic-emission signals and included clustering in the parameters of AE signals and their digitized form. The use of this algorithm significantly reduces the time of its analysis in retention of handling accuracy. Analysis of the structural coefficient modification allows correlating signal structure with strength properties and mono-layer packing. The research will allow to use the methodology during monitoring of CFRP structures. Keywords: carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), monolayer, cyclic load, damage, signal, acoustic emission, strain gauging.
