THE OPERATIVE CONTROL OF LEAKPROOFNESS OF THE HE-NE LASER GYROS BY THE EMISSION SPECTRAL ANALYSIS
(pp. 36-39)

Abstract. It is considered the modern methods and the means of leakproofness of the ring laser gyroscopes. A calibration graph of the relative intensity I(Ne – 5852 Å)/I(He – 5875 Å) of the total pressure of the binary gas mixture of He – Ne at a ratio of 20:1 and 14:1 is received. The experimental results indicate that the sensitivity of the analytical pair I(Ne – 5852 Å)/I(He – 5875 Å) is ten times higher than  I(He – 5016 Å)/I(He – 5875 Å). The calibration curve allows to determine the He–Ne mixture pressure change that has occurred over a fixed running time or storage of the resonator and to calculate flow of gas through the seal failure place in the device for predicting its lifetime. The shape, configuration and thickness of the glassceramic body of the resonator have no effect on the relative intensity of Ne – 5852 Å and He – 5875 Å lines in the range under consideration. The technique of control of leakproofness of ring laser gyros has been developed. It allows to define not tight resonators at the initial stage of a production cycle, on the basis of the emission spectral analysis.

Keywords: оperative control, ring laser gyro, emission spectral analysis.
