Ivanov V.I., Turobov B.V. Abstract. The comprehensive assessment of the technogenic safety of the complex technical objects is being produced with the use of the indicator of an accident risk. The methods of risk assessment using the statistics of accidents, but does not take into account the technical state of the object, the degree of imperfection. The article provides an overview of studies that prove the possibility and inevitability of increased use of non-destructive testing (NDT) and technical diagnostics (TD) for estimating the probability of an accident, the requirements to the implementation of risk analysis and outlines the development of these approaches. The problems of the introduction of the new requirements for the TD defined by the need to provide the quantitative indicators related to the reliability of performed assessments of the data on the defect size and measurement uncertainty, the use of probabilistic fracture mechanics methods, state metals assessments and corrosion damages.
