THE CURRENT STATUS OF MONITORING THE DYES IN THE FOOD PRODUCTS
(pp. 68-72)

Abstract. In the early 1990s, the foreign food products swept the Russian market. It caused a question about the early establishment of the domestic regulatory framework governing the physico-chemical methods for the identification and measurement of synthetic dyes in food products. To date, it is necessary to state that the work in this direction has progressed significantly. The monitoring techniques of synthetic dyes in beverages, candies, spices, canned fruit and frozen desserts have been standardized. In this regard, the possibility of the federal agencies, which oversee the arrival of products of poor quality, not corresponding to a label, deliberately falsified, has significantly increased. The problem is still existing. An updated legal and technical framework should cover all species as issued domestic and imported food products. We must also take into account the modern trends in the analytical instrumentation, relevance and capabilities of the new equipment for use of its potential to improve the quality control system of food items measurements.

Keywords: food synthetic dyes, adulteration of food, the health of consumers of food products.
