Sokolova A.G., Balitsky F.Ya., Markov V.V., Kuznetsov A.K., Chistyakov A.L., Shirman A.R. Abstract. The paper is dedicated to development and application of the condition monitoring methods for the rotary machinery with journal bearing supports equipped with shaft displacement probes. The grounds are given for necessity to use some additional methods to widely useable now spectral approach in order to improve the diagnostic capabilities of online vibration machinery condition monitoring. The results of use of one- and two-dimensional features (“half” and full spectra, orbits) of shaft relative vibration to diagnose the conditions of a centrifugal five stage compressor аt Ryazan oil refinery joint-stock company are given. The signs of shaft/support and thrust bearing rub based on orbits and full spectra features are described in details. The comparison of the symptoms with the results of post-stoppage examination shows that this comprehensive vibration analysis gives detailed indirect insight of bearing condition. Keywords: vibration diagnostics, machinery, journal bearing, relative vibration, shaft precession, orbit, full spectra.
