WAVELET ANALYSIS OF ACOUSTIC EMISSION SIGNALS BASED ON ALGEBRAIC WAVELETS
(pp. 34-43)

Abstract. The possibility of algebraic wavelets in application to wavelet analysis of acoustic emission signals has been investigated. An optimal shape of wavelet function for acoustic emission signals analysis could be usually obtained by finite sum of algebraic functions. The technique is proposed to determine optimal values of wavelet parameters for acoustic emission signals analysis. It gives the possibility to calculate the intervals of optimal values variation of wavelets parameters. It is shown that the wavelet transform of the high-frequency components of measured acoustic emission signals causes reduction of the noise and significant increase the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

Keywords: acoustic signals, wavelet transform, algebraic wavelet, optimal parameters of wavelet transform, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
