THE FORMULAS OF AN ACOUSTIC CHANNEL OF THE ANGLE BEAM PROBE UNDER THE ULTRASONIC TESTING OF METAL THROUGH THE CLADDING LAYER

Abstract. According to the earlier designed model of a shear wave displacement calculation, the formulas of an acoustic channel for several models of reflectors (a side of the cylindrical hole, dihedron, notch, rectangular groove, round flat bottom hole) are constructed in the ultrasonic testing of metal through a layer, which is radiated the angle beam probe through a cladding layer with under as contrasted to base metal speed of shear waves. The method of a fixed phase in a farfield region obtains the approximated (asymptotic) formulas of an acoustic channel used in calculations. The calculations show the effect of the cladding layer on the amplitude of the signal detected by an inclined signal transmitter for the reflector of a side cylinder type. The formulas of acoustic path model were generalized to the case of welding in the form of two layers.
