MODEL OF A BLACKBODY ON THE BASIS OF THE THERMOSTAT TERMOTEST-05-02
(pp. 40-44)

Abstract. The article is devoted to designing and manufacturinga model of a black body with an effective emissivity of not less than 0,999. The model is designed to reproduce the temperature from minus 50 to plus 30 °C. The radiation source is a cavity placed in the liquid thermostat. The use of a special form of the cavity and special paints can achieve high emissivity. The emissivity of the paint and the temperature distribution along the cavity walls are determined experimentally. The effective emissivity of the cavity is calculated using the mirrordiffuse model of reflection. Tested technical solution allows to eliminate formation of frost at low temperatures. The application of the developed model can reduce the uncertainty of the reproduction of temperature in 3 – 12 times. The obtained results are used to develop effective methods of calibration of thermometers and thermal imagers.

Keywords: infrared thermometer, black body, effective emissivity, measurement uncertainty.
