Trutaev S. Yu., Inshakov D.V. Abstract. The approaches to in-tube inspection of pipelines of different diameters with magnetic and acoustic methods of nondestructive examination are presented in the article. The peculiarities of implementation of imaging systems for the pipelines of small diameters are considered. Besides, the principles of flaws formalization as well as the methods of their identification and classification in the context of in-tube inspection are shown. The inspection methods for the pipelines, the diameter of which is less than 80 mm, are considered. Also, the possibility of applying the acoustic pulse reflectometry method for inspection of the flaws of the pipeline internal space as well as the flaws that reach the inner surface of the pipe is noted. The aspects of applying the acoustic pulse reflectometry methodology for the inspection of the heatexchange equipment are examined. Keywords: in-tube imaging, magnetic flux leakage, pipe wall flaw, flaw detection, flaws formalization, identification, acoustic pulse reflectometry.
