Both too high and impermissibly low values of axial force exerting on angular contact bearing are dangerous for gas turbine engines. That is why it is important to know the value of this force and operating modes of the engine on which this value is minimal or maximal. Importance of estimate of change in axial force exerting on an angular contact bearing during operation of a gas turbine engine is caused by obligatory technical condition monitoring. This paper describes driving mechanism of spectral component on bearing distance ring frequency during operation of gas turbine engine on the modes when the value of axial force is close to zero. Based on the results of vibration control of gas turbine engine, method for estimate of change in axial force exerting on angular contact bearing was proposed. This method allows to make indirect estimation of relative change of axial force. The usage of the method gives satisfactory practical results and doesn’t require extra costs of its implementation or modification of bearing support design. Keywords: axial force, angular-contact bearing, gas turbine engine, radial and axial vibration, 3-component vibration transducer.
