Abstract. In the present work, the sensitivity of the thermomagnetometric method for determining the magnetic phase inclusions in Li0,4Fe2,4Zn0,2O4 + Fe2O3 and LiFe5O8 + Al2O3 powder mixtures at a content of 6 wt. % or less of the ferrite phase was studied. Detection of the magnetic phase was carried out by the presence of a magnetic phase transition at the Curie temperature when the samples were heated in a thermal analyzer furnace. Thermomagnetometric analysis data were compared with the results of X-ray phase analysis. It is shown that the thermomagnetometric method makes it possible to determine ferrite magnetic phases with a content of not less than 0,25 % by weight in composite powder mixtures. In this case, the content of a certain ferrite phase can be quantitatively determined by the magnitude of the jump on the thermogravimetric curve. With such a small quantitative content of magnetic phases, the result obtained with X-ray phase analysis is below the sensitivity of the device itself.
