Rychkov M. M., Kaplin V. V., Smolyanskiy V. A., Stepanov I. B. Abstract. For the determination of an ability of a new microfocus hard bremsstrahlung source based on B-18 betatron to determine the flat extended inclusions with micro-thicknesses the investigations were carried out. The radiography imaging of a 13 um Ta-foil oriented at different angles with respect to the direction of radiation was investigated. The foil having the length of 3 mm along radiation beam was mounted in a plastic holder which was placed on a goniometer. For modeling Ta-inclusion inside the bulk of a steel detail, the assembly construction was placed before a thick steel plate. The radiography imaging of the assembly construction was obtained with a 2.4-fold magnification at different orientations of Ta-foil with respect to the radiation beam and with the steel plates of different thicknesses. The results illustrate the sensitivity of detecting flat extended inclusions from a heavy material in the bulk of a detail made from a lighter material. Keywords: technical radiography, bremsstrahlung gamma-rays, betatron, composite structures.
