GOST R 55724‒2013, which entered in to force in 2015, caused a number of significant complaints from specialists in ultrasonic testing. In particular, this is the lack of clarification to the SKH diagrams, an ambiguous under standing of the controls chemes for connections with non-penetration, the incorrect methodology for converting the area of the flat-bottom reflector into a notch area, an excessively high criterion for the diameter of the object for lapping the prisms of sensors, and the lack of clarification on the use of tuning samples. The article analyzes these shortcomings and suggests ways to eliminate them. Keywords: ultrasonic inspection, SKH-diagrams, non-test, reflector, prism lapping, standard sample.
