DIAGNOSTIC PORT FOR SCANNING THE SELECTED OBJECTS IN THE ELECTRONIC MEANS ON FPGA
(pp. 54-59)

Abstract. The paper presents a method for electronic means diagnostics based on Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). This method completes diagnostic modeling of physical processes in electronic circuits. The method performs forecasting and identifying failures more effectively. At the bottom of the proposed method is a diagnostic scan of the behavior of individual elements in electronic circuits via a special diagnostic port. A method for the diagnostic scan of selected objects is developed for scanning and data exchange using the diagnostic port. GUI-based on LabVIEW software product is designed for working with the diagnostic port. The program configures the diagnostic port and visualizes the results of selected objects scanning. Moreover, the program usage enables storing the information of electronic means status during operation for further use of the diagnostic information database. Usually industrial machinery is exploited in a high level of interference. For improving the reliability of data obtained by scanning, the procedure of regular testing of selected objects by FPGA software installation of storage elements in a given state is produced in the structure of the diagnostic port. The paper contains a structural scheme of the diagnostic port embedded in FPGA. The advantages and disadvantages of the mentioned technology are also analyzed.
