Posadov V.V., Posadov V.V. (jr.), Firsov A.V. Abstract. This paper describes method of flutter (on gas turbine engine fan) forecast based on its amplitude-frequency characteristics (received from tests); and also method of flutter diagnostics based on vibration speed signal raise value (on frequency of diagnostic). Described results of experimental research and applied diagnostic program show that it is reasonable to use vibration accelerometer as sensing device for flutter diagnostics. To recognize accurately flutter presence, vibrations threshold on frequency of diagnostic was used. This threshold was determined experimentally. In this case vibration speed was selected as vibration criterion as it’s amplitude changes slightly when rotating frequency changes. Based on this criterion it is possible to determine universal threshold for vibration level on the frequency of diagnostic for all engine operation modes where flutter can occur. This paper also presents flutter diagnostics method based on probabilistic characteristics of vibroacoustic signal. Diagnostics program was developed and approved during engine tests. Keywords: flutter, forecast, diagnostics, fan blade, compressor, gas furbine engine.
