EXPERIENCE AND COMPARISON OF PERFORMANCE HARDWARE-SOFTWARE COMPLEX SERIES «KORS» FOR THE APPLICATION OF SPECIALIZED X-RAY THICKNESS MEASUREMENT

Abstract. The article is about the experience in application of software and hardware systems of series “KORS” for making profile X-ray thickness measurement. The comparison and analysis of functionality of these systems in the chemical, petrochemical and refining industries is given. The distinctive feature of KORS profile X-ray thickness measurement systems is the ability to control production facilities without putting them out of operation, so to say without removing the heat insulation coatings and protective aluminum foils, and also inside the controlled pipeline there could be chemical environments such as gas, gas-vapor and liquid. There is no need to stop the production cycle for pipeline inspection, there is continuous monitoring of pump&compressor equipment, there is a common information database on the status of controlled object, – all these factors allow to predict the technical condition of production facility in the process of continuous on-line monitoring, to schedule repair works and to make reasonable decisions regarding the increase of overhaul intervals for technological equipment, which leads to significant economy.
