NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING THE HARDNESS OF SURFACE OF PLIERS YAWS
(pp. 47-49)

Abstract. The nondestructive control magnetic fluxgate method is used for definition of hardness of pliers jaws. There are represented the equations of regression, which relate the coercive force of the yaws with its hardness. It’s shown the feasibility of acceptance testing of hardness pliers yaws with nondestructive method for mass production. To reduce the rejection of products with mismatch hardness, it is suggested to choose tempering temperature in dependence with the value of carbon equivalent. It is recommended at the incoming inspection to divide metal into 3 groups via the carbon equivalent: “normal”, “soft” and “hard”. Separation of metal into groups with an input control is performed according to the chemical composition due to the attached certificate, and nondestructive checks.

Keywords: steel, round pliers, Rockwell hardness, coercive force, regression equation, carbon equivalent, heat treatm
