METHOD OF CONTROLLING THE INFLUENCE OF OXIDATION PRODUCTS MOTOR-GOVERNMENTAL OILS ON THE PROPERTIES OF BOUNDARY LAYERS AT SLIDING FRICTION
(pp. 41-44)

Abstract. The paper presents the result of the research of the effect of oxidation products of engine oils of the different basis on its anti-wear properties and conductive properties of the boundary layer separating the friction surface. To study the processes occurring in the frictional contact we used the method of transmission of direct current from a regulated source voltage of less than 3V through the contact. Amperage should not influence the sorption processes, so its value is set to 100 mA. In the wear process value of the current depends on the type and strain of the formation of boundary layers. During the testing the parameters of the current oscillations were recorded in the form of a dia-gram which determines the length of the plastic, elastic-plastic and elastic deformations of the beginning, that are considered to be the basis of the formation of adsorption and chemisorption layers. A comprehensive index of the electrical conductivity of the boundary layer, taking into account the concentration of the oxidation products on the nominal area of frictional contact.

Keywords: oxidation, the concentration of oxidation products, the spot diameter of the wear criterion antiwear properties, the coefficient of conductivity of the boundary layer, the boundary friction.
