Kowalski B.I., Yanovich V.S., Bezborodov Yu.N., Shram V.G. Abstract. It is given the results of monitoring the status of running gear oils and evaluation of the impact of the shelf life of oils resistance to oxidation using the photometric method and tribological tests. The gear oil MT-8p has been selected to study. Samples of oil weighing 500 g were taken from the final drives and gearboxes of 23 tracked vehicles and subjected to photometry to determine the absorption of coefficient of light and concentration of common aging products in the oil. A Part of a sample with weight of 15 g was centrifuged rephotometry to determine the concentration of soluble products of aging. The difference between the concentration of total and soluble products of aging determined the concentration of oilinsoluble products. Antiwear gear oils were determined by the arithmetic mean diameter spots of wear on three balls. The studies set composition of products of aging, the range of variation of the kinematic viscosity, antiwear properties and the concentration of water in the working oil fleet of 23 units. Keywords: the absorption coefficient of the light flux concentration of total, soluble and insoluble products of aging, the presence and concentration of water, kinematic viscosity, antiwear.
