NEW METHOD OF DETERMINING THE RATIO OF THE NUMBER OF RECOIL ELECTRONS TO THE NUMBER OF PHOTOELECTRONS
(pp. 28-33)

Abstract. Work examines the results of theoretical and experimental studies of different forms of interaction of the photons of the ionizing emission s by substances, in particular, photo effect and the Compton scattering of these photons. Analysis of the results showed that there are noticeable divergences between the theoretical calculations and experimental data. For the evaluation of the authenticity of the theory of interaction of the light quanta with the electrons of atoms, the goaldirected experimental studies are necessary. A new method of defining the ratio of the number of recoil electrons to the number of photoelectrons is substantiated in this paper. The results of the specific measurements are given.

Keywords: photo effect, the Compton scattering, ratio of the number of recoil electrons to the number of photoelectrons, ratio of the intensities of the characteristic and incoherently scattered of X-ray and gamma emissions.
