Abstract. Nuclear-physical methods and controls ensure the safe operation of nuclear power plants and nuclear energy and industry. On their basis the technological means of diagnosis and intelligent sensors that perform measurement, monitoring and control functions. Specificity of the nuclear industry has led to widespread use of monitoring and diagnosis with, a number of special properties. This is what led to the development of new directions – nuclear instrumentation and measurement and information technologies that have embraced a wide range of the latest advances in instrumentation, circuit design and design solutions, development of detectors and hardware registration.

Keywords: Non-destructive testing, technical diagnostics, nuclear instrumentation, measurement and information technologies, intelligent sensors, fuel distribution, operational reliability of NPP equipment.
