We have developed the experimental stand to study the relation of acoustic emission informational figure on conditions of hard metal lathe work. We have revealed and experimentally confirmed the diagnostic mark of the hard metal lathe work optimal conditions. We have defined the range of cutting speed, using the signals of acoustic emission, when there created the best conditions for minimum wear intensity of the tool. Keywords: cutting ceramics, deterioration, hardened steel, optimum speed of cutting, cutting tool, hard turning, signals acoustic emission.
