Violation of reliability of a design of the underground pipeline with the unique through damage can attract to big ecological and technogenic consequences therefore continuous continuous control of system of cathodic protection is necessary. Control of overall performance of system of electrochemical protection, is carried out by regular measurements of potential on all control points of the pipeline. Such technology demands considerable labor and material inputs, especially in the region of the Far North with almost impassable routes of pipelines. The analysis of control methods showed that the methods recommended by normative documents exclude potential control in an automatic mode. Owing to pilot studies in article the principle of carrying out measurements on the working equipment is offered. The control method of electrochemical protection of the main pipelines by diagnosing of connecting tires of anode grounding is improved. Keywords: control of cathodic protection, sacrificial anode.
