CONCEPT OF MEMS SENSOR FOR MONITORING EXTRACTING OIL AND OIL TRANSPORTATION

Abstract. This paper analyzes the possibility of using MEMS sensors in extracting and transportation of petroleum products in order to create measurement systems, the elements of which are operated at temperatures below minus 60 °C, in icing conditions, water immersion, reliable and maintenance free during the using process. General attention paid to processing parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow rate, the composition of the process, in this case the measurement must be carried out in a continuous mode and in the “field”. It is shown that the classical methods of measurement based on inductive, potentiometric measurement method and the use of steel elastic elements are not suitable for use in the Far North. Finally, recommendations for the use of microelectromechanical systems for monitoring pipeline systems in harsh environments are given.
