Theoretical justification for appearance of spectral bands on the surface of parts subjected to ultrasonic strengthening treatment is considered. X-ray diffraction researches, x-ray photoelectronic spectrometry, and also optical, electronic and AFM investigation showed that the appearance of spectral pattern is explained both by existence of thin transparent films of oxides on parts surfaces and optical phenomena caused by a regular submicrorelief. Keywords: ultrasonic treatment, control, microrelief, oxide film.
