Malushin D.S., Pastukhov E.G., Zhuravlev A.I., Chernov L.А. Abstract. Pulsed excitation of eddy current probes has several advantages over a harmonic excitation. The signal of the eddy current transducer under pulsed excitation contains more information, due to the gradual penetration of eddy currents into the object. There was developed a method for calculating the eddy current signal transducer, located above a layered half-space under pulsed excitation. There is approximate analytical solution of the problem of calculating the pulse excitation of eddy currents, built on the use of direct and inverse Laplace transform. But it can be only applied to such objects as plates and half-space. The proposed method of calculation is based on the semi-analytical solution. This solution is to calculate the vector potential for each harmonic excitation current and the subsequent calculation of the relative insertion voltage of measuring coil. Results of calculation of signal under pulsed excitation of eddy currents in non-ferromagnetic plate are in satisfactory agreement with similar results obtained by other authors. Research shows the possibility of applying the proposed method to solving the problem of determining the corrosion damages between layers of the five-layer object. Keywords: eddy current transducer, pulsed excitation, vector potential, layered half-space, multilayer construction.
