Livshits A.M., Gorskii Е.V. Abstract. High voltage spark excitation of emission spectra of metals has been used in industrial analytics for years. Despite its high versatility and robustness, the matrix effects are present when analyzing different kinds of alloys. In this study the optical emission spectrometer type “PAPUAS-4” was used for the analysis of zinc alloys. Multidimensional regression method was used for the software correction of matrix effects. It was shown that this correction largely reduces the errors of matrix effects and enable precise analysis of zinc alloys with high voltage spark excitation. Keywords: atomic spectroscopy, optical emission spectroscopy (OES), spark excitation, alloys analysis, zinc alloys, matrix effects, chemometrics, regression analysis.
