Monogarov O. I. Abstract. In the article the mathematical method for selection of partial discharges from noisy signal is considered. The method consists in rep-resentation of registered and filtered signal as a field of instantaneous velocities. Mathematical methods (such as Fourier transform, short-time Fourier transform, wavelet transform) for selection of partial discharges were classified in this work and it was concluded, that tradi-tional mathematical methods for their analysis are inefficient, because partial discharges are non-stationary signals. The result of this re-search was a development of a new method for identification and recognition such signals. In addition, it was showed an application of sug-gested method for recognition partial discharges and corona discharges.
