QUESTIONS ON CONTROL AND ASSESSMENT OF FIRE DANGER OF FOREST ZONES
(pp. 57-60)

Abstract. The analysis showed, that the known forest fire danger index (FFDI) has a set of modifications. It was found, that the substitution of draught factor in the known formula of FFDI with parameter of steepness of regression between surface temperature and NDVI gives us the differential equation, the solution of which make it possible to propose the new modified index of forest fire danger. It was also shown, that the new modified index is more universal, it includes the cases when the correlation between surface temperature and NDVI is both negative and positive.

Keywords: fire danger, normalized vegetation index, soil, forest, humidity.
