Abstract. Here are considered any reasons for the emergence of various defects in the walls of the main pipelines, described produced defectoscopes for pipeline inspection. There are technical characteristics and advantages of the developed first in Russia defectoscope with transverse magnetization “KOD4M-1420”, designed for the control of pipelines with a diameter of pipes 1420 mm, test results on various pipelines.
