A PREDICTION OF PROTECTIVE PROPERTIES OF HEAT SURFACE OXIDE FILMS OF HEATPOWER EQUIPMENT
(pp. 45-54)

Abstract. Features of estimation and prediction of stainless steels oxide films protective properties for water-vapor corrosion are concerned. These films are formed on the surface of steels by vapor-water treatment. The aim of investigation was infinding most important factors, which determine the rate of precipitate accumulation, protective propertiesof oxide films, and its mechanical strength. Voltammetry, AC-impedance, chronopotentiometric methods, combined with SEM and X-ray, were used as experimental methods. All tests were made on the control cutting examples of pipelines. It was obtained, that corrosion rate is determined by a part of free surface, calculated from voltammetry data on coated and free surface, inner layer thickness, calculated from cathodicpulse chronopotentiometric curves in alkaline electrolyte, active component of AC-impedance of films in alkaline electrolyte, phase composition of films, which is identified and formalized from cathodic pulse chronopotentiometric curves in acidic electrolyte. As a result electrochemical corrosion mechanism was proposed and quantitativemodel of corrosion rate and mechanical strength of the films in the multiple regression form. This form gives a features of corrosion rate and mechanical strength of the films calculation on the base of surface parameters.

Keywords: heat surface, protectivefilms, voltammetry, chronopotentiometric, AC-impedance, inner layer of film, corrosion rate, multiple regressionequation, protonic conductivity, cathodic corrosion process, phases of protective films, vapor-water treatment, electrochemical express-analysis.
