POD EVALUATION OF AUTOMATED ULTRASONIC DETECTION OF HARD ALPHA INCLUSIONS IN TITANIUM ALLOYS
(pp. 24-28)

Abstract. Problems of automated ultrasonic testing reliability evaluation were observed. Process of obtaining titanium alloy specimens with specified size hard alpha inclusion and method of their study were described. Using results of mathematical modeling of focused transducer ultrasonic waves propagation testing parameters were chosen. Preliminary curve characterizes automated ultrasonic testing reliability based on experimental data were plotted.

Keywords: automated ultrasonic testing, hard alpha inclusion, POD, mathematical modeling of focused transducer ultrasonic waves propagation.
