TWO-PARAMETER RELIABILITY ESTIMATION OF ULTRASONIC TESTING OF WELDS

Abstract. During the last years due to technical development the coherent methods of ultrasonic testing have become perspective. These methods permit to pass from one-parameter to two-parameter reliability estimation of the ultrasonic testing. The article is devoted to the comparison of these two methods of reliability estimation. Bilateral welds of low-alloyed steel with the width of 10 mm were used to estimate reliability. The experiment shows that use of two parameters reduces the consumer risk on 9,6 and 16 % in comparison with the use of one parameter (for estimating amplitude or defect size only).
