ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MAXIMAL MAGNETIC PERMEABILITY OF CAST IRONS AND PARAMETERS OF THE SATURATION HYSTERESIS LOOP
(pp. 9-17)

Abstract. The dependence of maximal magnetic permeability μm on the coercive force Нс and on the remanent magnetization Мr is revealed to differ for steels and cast irons. The formula for calculating the μm of steels from their Нс and Мr is adjusted based on the result of a statistical analysis of the relationship between the magnetic parameters of cast irons in the whole range of their variability. The calculation error μm of cast irons is consequently reduced. The results of the calculation may be used in magnetic structural analysis of cast irons instead of a laborious measurement of μm.

Keywords: cast irons, structure, non-destructive testing, maximum permeability.
