THE ANALYSIS OF SENSITIVITY OF LEAK DETECTION METHODS AND A TECHNIQUE FOR ITS IMPROVEMENT
(pp. 36-42)

Abstract. In the paper the procedure of calculation of the permissible leakage flow for sealed products is stated. It is shown the possibility of recalculation of leakage flow measurement results for non-standard conditions to standard conditions. The basic types of equipment used to find leaks in pressurized objects are described. A technique that permits obtain measurement sensitivity greater than that provides a leak detector in the standard conditions by changing the pressure and kind of a test gas is discussed. A study of the sensitivity of the considered methods of leak detection using three samples with a different leakage flow is conducted. It is shown in what range of the leakage flow rate considered types of leak detectors to ensure accuracy, repeatability and minimum value of tests should be used.

Keywords: leak detection, leakage rate, leak flow, test gas, vacuum.
