METHOD OF DETERMINING THE TEMPERATURE OF THE PLASMA JET AT THE ATMOSPHERIC PLASMA TORCH NOZZLE EXIT
(pp. 56-61)

Abstract. In order to optimize the technological flow of the plasma spraying coating process and its parameters control the new method of determining the temperature of the plasma jet at the atmospheric plasma torch nozzle exit was proposed and investigated. For the first time the analytical solution of the boundary inverse heat transfer problem was used in order to avoid a significant impact on the enthalpy of the plasma jet and increase the measurements accuracy. By means of this solution the heat flux is estimated on the inner surface of the plasmotron nozzle heat receiver wall washed by the plasma, and the temperature of the plasma calculated using these data. The input data for the calculation was the temperature change at the thermally insulated rear (outer) side of the heat receiver wall which was not in contact with the plasma. Verification of the method and experimental studies has shown the acceptability of such identification.

Keywords: plasma surfacing, coating, plasma temperature, the contact methods of high temperature studying, inverse heat transfer problem solution.
