APPLICATION OF MAGNETIC METHODS FOR DETECTION OF LOCALIZATION ZONES OF PLASTIC DEFORMATION IN STRUCTURAL STEELS
(pp. 12-15)

Abstract. The article deals with the method for detecting the magnetic zones of localization of plastic deformation. It consists in registration of stray magnetic fields that occur during the deformation of the test product over areas of an arrangement of slip bands location. The method allows to find localization of plastic deformation zones at early stages of their formation and development, until the cracks, without preliminary surface preparation of products, including in the presence of coverings up to 150 μm thick. The method is suitable for the detection of both single and multiple zones of plastic deformation localization. It is simple to implement and can be used in various industries, such as metallurgy, mechanical engineering, transport.

Keywords: structural steel, destruction center, localization of plastic deformation, magnetic field of dispersion.
