USING THE PARAMETERS OF THE SATURATION HYSTERESIS LOOP FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF STRUCTURE-SENSITIVE MAGNETIC PARAMETERS OF STEELS
(pp. 26-31)

Abstract. It is shown that the “multiparameter” methods of magnetic structuroscopy, based on the measurement of magnetic parameters, the accuracy of which is not high, can not provide reliable control of the structure of steels. The developed formulas for calculating the maximum, initial and maximum differential permeability’s, all the relaxation magnetic parameters of steels based on their coercive force Нc , the remanent magnetization Mr and the saturation magnetization Ms measured on the saturation magnetic hysteresis loop are presented. Parameters, which are sensitive to structural changes in steels, are proposed to be formed from НcMr and Ms . Examples of such parameters are given. It is shown that the structural sensitivity of these parameters is higher or no worse than the structural sensitivity of НcMr , magnetic permeability’s and relaxation magnetic parameters, and they can be measured more simply and more accurately.

Keywords: Non-destructive testing, magnetic structural analysis, magnetic measurements, remanent magnetization, coercive force, saturation magnetization.
