APPLICATION OF PHOTOIONIZATION DETECTION FOR SORTING METALS
(pp. 48-51)

Abstract. A new type of photoionization detectors of gases and vapors is described, in which the collection of ions occurs under the action of a contact potential difference arising between two electrodes made of different metals. The design of this detector, the principle of operation and its operation are described. The results of the development of a device for sorting metals and alloys based on a photoionization generator detector are also presented. The scheme of the experimental setup for testing the proposed device is given. The elements of the device are described in detail. The possibility of using a photoionization generator detector in the device under development has been experimentally confirmed.
