GROUNDS FOR EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION OF ACOUSTIC EMISSION TESTING

Abstract. Practical guidelines for acoustic-emission testing have been already established in many organizations with the aim to increase the efficiency of testing. The effective organization of the acoustic-emission testing is understood as a set of techniques and algorithms that ensures maximum quality and safety checks at minimum cost. In this paper, we summarize the experience accumulated by the staff of Togliatti State University in cooperation with independent experts and diagnostic organizations in the implementation of the acoustic-emission testing hazardous production facilities of different types. Such information is missing in the regulatory documents and almost not covered in available literature. It means that advanced practical experience is not disseminated properly forcing each newly emerging company to go all the way from the ground without considering the experience of others. We believe that data presented in this publication will not only be useful for the specialists in the acoustic-emission testing, but will also encourage the organizations involved in the acoustic-emission testing to promote the exchange of practical experience.
