DYNAMIC METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROL OF THE MECHANICAL EFFICIENCY OF CHAIN TRANSMISSIONS
(pp. 58-65)

Abstract. In this paper, it is propose the inertial method for control of the mechanical efficiency of chain transmission, and impact of its parameters on the mechanical losses in the chain mesh is found as well. The moment of inertia of the rotating masses serves as an optimization criterion. A methodology for determining the moment of inertia of the losses and efficiency of the chain transmission is suggested. Based on the developed methodology, equipping an electric chain drive with a hardware and software system allows to measure the moment of inertia of losses in chain transmissions and impact of parameters on the change of its value in a wide range of speed and load operation modes of the electric drive.

Keywords: inertia, inertial diagnostics, mechanical losses, chain transmission, mechanical efficiency.
