CALCULATED-INSTRUMENTAL METHOD FOR ESTIMATION OF STRESS-STRAIN STATE OF THE ELEMENTS OF PIPELINE SYSTEMS USING THE POWER OF BOUNDARY CONDITIONS
(pp.045-051)

Abstract. We present calculated-instrumental method developed for estimation of stress-strain state of the complex technical systems elements using the power of boundary conditions and demonstrate its application for estimating stress-strain state of pipeline systems elements. This method allows to take into account unintended impacts on the controlled element from other system elements. This problem is topical, in the case where a proper consideration of these interactions in the form of the kinematic boundary conditions (anchoring and displacement) is impossible due to absence of the access to these elements. In particular, such a situation occurs during stress-strain state evaluation of underground pipeline system elements for which unintended project loads occur because of faults in support system of connected pipelines, or due to soils shift. Calculated-instrumental method is based on the use of force boundary conditions (forces and torques) which are determined from measurements of mechanical stresses by the method of acoustoelasticity. It is noted that the acoustoelasticity method for stress measurements is chosen because this is the only method allowing to measure membrane stress, which are directly used for calculation of the force boundary conditions. An example of calculation of stress-strain state of the main gas pipeline tee and use of results obtained to estimate the residual resource are presented. It is demonstrated that taking into account the impact from connected pipelines allow to avoid the use of tee in the conditions of a depleted cyclic strength.

Keywords: stress-strain state, pipeline, gas transport system, force boundary conditions, acoustoelasticity, residual re-source.
