DIGITAL ALGORITHM FOR ESTIMATING THE SPECTRAL COMPOSITION OF A MULTICOMPONENT VIBRATION PROCESS
(pp. 40-45)

Abstract. A digital algorithm for calculating the amplitude spectrum estimates is considered. The algorithm is developed based on the use of binary sign-function analog-stochastic quantization for the primary transformation of a continuous multicomponent process into a digital form. The result of this quantization is the sign signal. The processing of sign signals allowed carrying out an analytical computation of the integration operations in the transition from a continuous form of the spectral estimation representation to its calculation in a digital form. As a consequence, multiplication operations degenerate into procedures that basically require the execution of logical operations and simple algebraic operations of summation and subtraction. This reduces the complexity of digital estimation of the spectral composition of a multicomponent process. The theoretical findings are experimentally validated on real-world vibration signals. All theoretical findings are experimentally validated on simulated and real-world vibration signals. Experimental studies have shown that the developed algorithm has stable characteristics of detection of harmonic components.
