APPLICATION OF ACOUSTIC EMISSION METHOD TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF DETECTION OF THE DELAMINATION IN METAL VESSELS OPERATING IN THE ENVIRONMENT HYDROGEN-CONTAINING GAS
(pp. 4-11)

Abstract. Estimates of probability of detection of metal delamination of the wall of the capacitive equipment at different variants of application of methods of selective and integral nondestructive control on the real practical example of technical diagnostics of the separator of hydrogen-containing gas are given. It is shown that the method of acoustic emission can significantly increase the probability of detection of equipment wall delamination during its technical diagnosis while maintaining the volume of sample control by scanning methods. This positive effect can be achieved at the stage of planning the volume and location of the areas of application of scanning methods of non-destructive testing before the technical diagnosis by using the previously obtained data of acoustic emission control on the location and degree of danger of the registered acoustic sources. Obtaining this information is possible both during acoustic emission control of the equipment during technical diagnostics and in the mode of its operation. It is also shown that the probability of detection of metal delamination during acoustic emission control increases in proportion to the decrease in the area of the location cluster, and its smallest value is determined by the size (area) of the antenna array.

Keywords: probability of detection of defects, hydrogen stratification of metal, ultrasonic thickness measurement, ultrasonic testing, acoustic emission testing.
