Some aspects of mathematical simulation of the eddy current non-destructive testing for ferromagnetic components are considered that allow simplifying the mathematical model. The influence of the motion of an inhomogeneous test object in an inhomogeneous field of an eddy current probe of finite dimensions is considered. The influence of the inhomogeneous magnetization of the object, the nonlinearity and ambiguity of the dependence of the magnetic flux density on the magnetic field intensity is described. An example of a mathematical model and simulation results is presented. Keywords: non-destructive testing, eddy current testing, multistrand stay cables, parallel strand system, mathematical modeling.
