In the context of the formation of new production chains, the problem of compliance with the products of car components for the required quality increases significantly. The purpose of the article is to analyze the problems of the quality of car production and the development of the domestic component base using the PPAP process of the industry quality standard IATF 16949. Since 2022, the Russian auto industry has been noted the facts of growth in consumers, which is due to a low adaptation of the QMS to work with new suppliers, and a lack of more 70 % of certification suppliers on IATF 16949. Certification according to IATF 16949 complicates the absence of a universal document regulating and explaining the rules and principles of implementation of APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP procedures, taking into account the specifics of the Russian industry and the legal field. In order to develop the national standardization of the automotive industry, a generalized algorithm of the production approval process (PPAP) is proposed as part of the IATF 16949 quality standard for new suppliers of components in the supply of automakers. Keywords: car production, quality management, automobile component, suppliers' requirements, IATF 16949 standard, PPAP procedure.
